What is Roadrunner Math?

Roadrunner math is a new course we are rolling out this year.  Roadrunner math is a 9 week course that all 7th and 8th graders complete.  It is not a normal math class, it is a puzzle / project based course that will assist the children in divergent thinking and problem solving.

This week students began their first challenge.  The challenge is to think outside of the box and create a complex design that forces another to color the design with 5 or more colors. The rule when coloring the design is that you want to use the least amount of colors as possible to beat the other’s design.  Colors cannot touch it’s own color on a line.  I am excited to see the designs the children create!
